Texas man arrested following sex offense investigation in Beekman

Beekman, New York – On July 22, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Christopher Wustrau, 25 years old, of San Antonio, Texas, for Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child 1st Degree, a Class B Felony.

In May of 2015, a former Beekman resident reported a sex offense that occurred approximately 10 years ago in the Town of Beekman.  An investigation revealed that Wustrau sexually abused the victim when she was between the ages of 7 and 9 years old.

As a result of the investigation, Judge Garito of the Town of Beekman Court issued a warrant ordering Wustrau’s arrest.  With the assistance of the San Antonio Police Department, Wustrau was taken into custody in San Antonio, Texas on July 15, 2015. On July 22, 2015, New York State Police Investigators traveled to the State of Texas and took custody of Wustrau before extraditing him to New York.

The State Police were assisted by the San Antonio Police Department, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s office.

Wustrau was arraigned before the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
