Hudson man charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law

Greenport, New York – On May 24, 2015, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Herbert R. Lafleur, 59 years old, of Hudson, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, a Class E Felony.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Lafleur was operating on State Route 9 for failing to maintain its lane of travel.  Lafleur was taken into custody after troopers observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Lafleur was charged with Felony DWI under Leandra’s Law after Troopers observed two children under the age of 16 in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Lafleur supplied police with a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content
of .11%.  He was arraigned before the Town of Greenport Court and released on his own recognizance.  Lafleur is scheduled to return to the Town of Greenport Court on June 8, 2015.
