Fishkill, New York – On May 19, 2021, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested John Peters, age 32, of Conway, SC, for Assault in the 2^nd degree, a class D felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4^th degree, a class A misdemeanor.

At approximately 10:43 p.m., Troopers responded to Derick Drive in the town of Fishkill for a physical domestic dispute.  Investigation determined Peters struck the victim with a lawn chair causing the victim to suffer serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Peters was arraigned before the town of Wappinger Court and released on his own recognizance to return on June 16, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.
