A joint investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force (DCDTF), Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT), US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Homeland Security Investigations Hudson Valley (HSI) culminated with the arrests of 2 area men.

 

 

On May 18, 2021, simultaneous search warrants were executed on Howland Ave in Beacon, Kristy Dr in Beacon, and Hulsetown Rd in Chester. The search warrants were a result of an investigation into narcotics sales taking place in Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange Counties. The search warrants were executed without incident. Taken into custody were JOHN DIAMOND, age 27, of Chester, and DYLAN CRONK, age 31, of Beacon.

During the course of the investigation and search warrants, approximately 1300 pressed Fentanyl pills, 1700 Xanax pills, an AR15 style assault rifle and 9mm semi-automatic pistol (both ghost guns), $3,000.00 cash, scales, and packaging materials were recovered. It should be noted that the Fentanyl pills are masked to have the color, shape, and markings of Oxycodone.

Assisting in the investigation were City of Beacon Police Dept., Town of Blooming Grove Police Dept., and the Orange County Drug Task Force.

JOHN DIAMOND and DYLAN CRONK were charged with:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, class

B felony

Both subjects were processed at Beacon PD and released on appearance tickets. Additional charges may follow.
