PRESS RELEASE

Rhinebeck, New York – On April 21, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested 42-year-old Clark P. Kozlek, of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Erik J. Jensen, age 33, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, and Conspiracy 4th Degree a Class E Felony.

On March 19, 2015, Troopers responded to a Rhinebeck residence for a larceny complaint. The complainants reported that their copper roofing material had been removed from their house and stolen.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Kozlek and Jensen had removed the copper roofing material, consisting of copper drip edge and roof sheeting, and sold it at a local scrap yard.

As a result of the copper theft, it is estimated that the cost to repair the roof will exceed $130,000.

Kozlek and Jensen were both arraigned before the Town of Hyde Park Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. They are both scheduled to appear before the Town of Rhinebeck Court on April 23, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
