Dover man arrested for DWI

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, at approximately 3:39 a.m., Deputy Frank McDonough was dispatched by Putnam 911 to the area of State Route 312 and State Route 22, for a report of an erratic driver. Deputy McDonough canvassed the area for the vehicle and observed a vehicle matching the description commit a traffic infraction on State Route 22, in the Town of Patterson. Deputy McDonough initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Gustavo Pop-Tux, age 22, of Dover Plains, was allegedly intoxicated. Mr. Pop-Tux was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. He was processed and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated: Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .18 or more (Misdemeanor), and Driving While Intoxicated: Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 or more (Misdemeanor). Mr. Pop-Tux was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Anthony Mole of the Town of Patterson Justice Court. Justice Mole remanded Mr. Pop-Tux to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $500.00 cash-bail/$1,000.00 bail-bond. Mr. Pop-Tux is scheduled to appear in the Town of Patterson Justice Court, at a future date and time.
