Paid driver arrested for forgery and grand larceny after stealing the identity of a customer

Somers, New York – On March 24, 2019, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested Andres F. Aguilar, age 23, of Bedford Hills, NY, for Forgery in the 1stdegree, a class C felony, Identity Theft in the 1st degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, both class D felonies, and Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

On March 22, 2019, Troopers received a complaint of fraud from an elderly victim.  An investigation found three checks totaling $11,000.00 in U.S. currency were fraudulently withdrawn from her account.  Further investigation found the checks were stolen by Aguilar who then forged the victim’s signature, and deposited the money into his own checking accounts.  Aguilar had recently been employed by the victim as a paid driver.

Aguilar was arraigned before the town of Somers Court and released on his own recognizance by the Honorable Judge Timone.  Aguilar is next scheduled to appear before the Court on March 25, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.
