Obituary, Margaret Jane (McMillan) Fisch

Margaret Jane (McMillan) Fisch, 88, of Pawling, N.Y. passed on March 23, 2019, in Danbury, Connecticut.

Born on August 19, 1930, in New York City and grew up in the Bronx.  She enjoyed playing in St. Mary’s Park as a child.  Born to Myrtle (Bell) McMillan and Fredrick McMillan.  Margaret was predeceased by her sisters Myrtle McMillan, Lilly (McMillan) Williams, and brothers Charlie and William (Bill) McMillan.

She was a dedicated Executive Secretary for U.S. Casualty Insurance and later for Central Mutual Insurance working in Lower Manhattan.  She married Theodore K. Fisch in 1954 and moved to Pawling, N.Y. in 1972.  She worked in both real estate and retail part-time in Dutchess County.  She also enjoyed working in Dutchess County politics engaging constituents and party candidates on campaigns and during annual petition carrying.  She enjoyed spending time with her life-long friend Ruby DeNigris, whom she grew up with in the Bronx.  Margaret was always known for telling great stories of her life growing up in the Bronx.

She was a dedicated and caring mother who raised her only child Theodore J. Fisch who currently resides in Watervliet, N.Y.  Margaret is survived by her husband of 62 years, Theodore K. Fisch, Theodore J. Fisch (Son) and Melvin her beloved Grandson Kitty.

Margaret will be missed and loved by the people she touched during her life.

Friends may pay their respects at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Friday, March 29, 2019, 5-7 PM, with a service at 6:30 PM.
