Fishkill man arrested following vehicle and traffic stop

Fishkill, New York – On March 30, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Jason J. Herring, 47 years old, of Fishkill, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, and other vehicle and traffic violations.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Herring was operating on State Route 52 after they observed it change lanes on Interstate 84 without utilizing a directional signal. While conducting an interview of Herring, Troopers noted clues that indicated he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the stop.

Herring was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree after discovering he was in possession of a glass pipe containing crack cocaine residue.

Herring provided a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content
of .07%, and was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol. He was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Fishkill Court on April 8, 2015.
