GARRISON MAN ARRESTED ON GUN AND DRUG CHARGES

Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Garrison man on weapons and drug related charges.

On October 9, 2018, a member of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Road Patrol Division received information that a male residing in the Garrison area of the Town of Philipstown was unlawfully in possession of a pistol.

An investigation revealed the man to be Brian C. Reiniger, age 48, of 1627 Route 9, Garrison. On October 12, 2018, members of the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit were able to obtain a search warrant for Mr. Reiniger’s residence and vehicle. While enforcing the search warrant, Narcotics Enforcement Unit members recovered a .357 Sig pistol, three magazines, additional ammunition, and a quantity of alleged cocaine. Mr. Reiniger does not possess a valid pistol permit and is additionally barred from possessing the weapon, due to his criminal history.

Mr. Reiniger was arrested and charged with a felony count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, two felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, one misdemeanor count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, and one misdemeanor count of Unsafe Storage of a Firearm. Mr. Reiniger was arraigned the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court by the Honorable Justice Gina Capone, on behalf of Philipstown Justice Court. Justice Capone remanded Mr. Reiniger to the Putnam County Correctional Facility without bail.
