Vehicle and Traffic stop leads to a DWI and Drug Arrest of a Montgomery man

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police announce the arrests of Michael D Wright, age 32, of Montgomery, New York. Mr. Wright was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, a class “D” Felony and Tampering With Physical Evidence, a class “E” Felony. Mr. Wright was additionally charged Vehicle and Traffic Law Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense, as well as other Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations.
On 04/01/2014 at approximately 3:10a.m. Troopers observed a 2001 Buick on Interstate 84 in the Town of Newburgh, Speeding. Subsequent investigation revealed a quantity of Cocaine, which led to the aforementioned charges being filed with the Town of Newburgh Court.

Mr. Wright was arraigned by Newburgh Town Justice Clarino and remanded to the Orange County jail without bail. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Newburgh Court on 04/07/15 at 4:00 pm.
