Gardiner, NY man arrested for Vehicular Assault

On September 18, 2018, State Police at Highland charged Stephen S. Bautista, age 57 of Gardiner NY with the following charges:
Vehicular Assault First Degree, Class D Felony
Driving while Ability Combined Drugs/Alcohol, Misdemeanor
The arrest of Bautista was the result of the investigation into a personal injury auto accident, occurring on Sunday, September 16, 2018. The accident occurred on Route 44/55 in the town of Plattekill, resulting in injuries to the passenger and driver of a second vehicle.
Bautista was arraigned before Town of Plattekill Justice Robert Murphy and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail. State Police were assisted by the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office and the Town of Plattekill Police Department during the investigation.
