Delgado Statement on Separated Immigrant Children Being Held in Kingston
KINGSTON, NY — Today, NY-19 Democratic candidate Antonio Delgado issued the following statement on the revelation that children separated from their parents at the border are being held in Kingston.
“The separation of children from their parents at the border is sickening, un-American and a moral outrage. Today, we learned that this nightmare is happening in our backyard. There are separated children being held right here in Kingston.
This is not about politics. This is about right and wrong. President Trump has lied to us repeatedly and could end this shameful policy with one phone call. America is better than this, and we deserve better from our leaders.
I will be volunteering my time and legal skills in any way I can to deal with this situation.”
