Town of Shawangunk Democrats Endorse Dave Clegg for Congress

(SHAWANGUNK, NY) – Today, the Town of Shawangunk Democrats endorsed Dave Clegg to be New York’s 19th Congressional District nominee.

Upon their endorsement, Adrienne Gelfand-Perine, Chair of the Town of Shawangunk Democrats, released the following statement:

“There is no one with more experience or the deep roots needed to beat John Faso in November than Dave Clegg. He has given both his professional and personal life to the people of our district. Dave’s impeccable record taking on giant corporations, polluters, and the health insurance industry in the courtroom and winning, while also serving his community as the Chair of the Ulster Human Rights Commission, giving hundreds of pro-bono hours to women who have been the victim of abuse, and his commitment to protecting our environment makes him the best candidate to represent us in Congress. We had a final vote of 13-2, and I, along with our committee, are proud to endorse him to be our Democratic nominee.”

Upon receiving the endorsement of the Town of Shawangunk Democrats, Dave Clegg released the following statement:

“I am honored to have the support of the Town of Shawangunk Democrats who represent the very best that our party has to offer. As we head into the final week of the campaign I know their support will make all the difference in this race. They understand what I do – that it’s going to take a candidate with an actual history of serving the people of this district to win this race. I look forward to working with them the rest of this primary, and into the general, in our joint effort to defeat John Faso; I will be the representative in Washington looking out for our district.”

Dave Clegg is running for Congress in New York’s 19th Congressional District. Over the course of his 37 years in the community, he has served as a trial attorney representing working people, founded the Darmstadt Homeless Shelter, founded the Ulster Habitat for Humanity Branch, was the Vice-President and is a current board member of the Family of Woodstock, is Chair of the Ulster Human Rights Commission, teaches ethics classes at Woodbourne Prison, and is working on a restorative justice disciplinary code for the Kingston school district. No candidate has lived in the district longer than Dave Clegg.
