Dutchess Man Faces Burglary Charge

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Dutchess County man on a charge of burglary.

On March 24, 2015 , Richard T. Fuhst, 27, of Wappingers Falls, New York, was arrested by members of the Sheriff’s Department and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, a felony, following an investigation by members of the Road Patrol, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Narcotics Enforcement Unit. The arrest was the result of a complaint received on November 14, 2014 from a Town of Putnam Valley resident who had observed suspicious activity at his Bryant Pond Road home. During the investigation, it was determined that Fuhst and another individual were responsible for burglarizing the home. Mr. Fuhst was arrested at the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court when he appeared to answer separate charges. He was arraigned by Town Justice Gina Capone and released in his own recognizance pending further court action.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to 15 years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $15,000.00.
