Poughkeepsie man charged with endangering minors

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Tajai L. White, age 20 of the City of Poughkeepsie, for endangering the welfare of minors as the result of a traffic stop on 1/3/18 at approximately 11:30 pm.
On the above date and time, Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on Parker Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie for passing a red light, and at that time Mr. White was identified as the operator and there were also three juveniles in the vehicle – females ages 11, 13, and 14. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Mr. White at the scene, and he is accused of possessing marihuana and smoking it with the juveniles. The juveniles will not be identified, and they are known to Mr. White but not related to him. At this time Mr. White has been charged with the following: Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree – 3 counts (Misd)
Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 3 counts (Misd)
Unlawful possession of Marihuana (Violation)
Passing a red light (Traffic infraction)

After being processed, Mr. White was released on appearance tickets and is due to reappear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on 1/15/18 at 9:00 am. As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. White is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
