Bedford, New York – On October 22, 2017 the New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested Anthony Mathis, age 50, of New Windsor, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to Interstate 684 for a report of an erratic vehicle.  Once on scene, Troopers located the vehicle in question and observed it traveling fifteen miles an hour over the lawfully posted speed limit.  During the interview of Mathis and subsequent investigation, Troopers determined that he was operating under the influence of alcoholic beverages.  Troopers additionally found approximately 61 grams of Oxycodone and four concealed daggers in his possession.

Mathis was arraigned before the Town of North Castle Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail with no bail.  Mathis is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Bedford Justice Court on October 25, 2017, at 7:00 PM.
