SP Livingston – Livingston man arrested for Strangulation and Criminal Mischief after Domestic Incident

Livingston, New York – On September 20, 2017, Troopers from the Livingston barracks arrested Kenneth F. Van Norstrand III, age 36, of Livingston for Strangulation in the 2ndDegree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor following a domestic incident.

Columbia County 911 dispatched Troopers to County Route 10 in the Town of Livingston for a domestic incident.  Troopers interviewed and provided medical assistance to the victim who had fled the residence.  Troopers then interviewed Van Norstrand and placed him under arrest for strangling the victim and destroying the victim’s phone to prevent a call for help.

Van Norstrand was arraigned before the Town of Livingston Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.  If waived, Van Norstrand is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Livingston Court on September 21, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
