Bronx woman charged with cashing forged checks

PRESS RELEASE
Wappinger, New York – On April 21, 2017, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Amanda S. Schaffrodt, age 26, of the Bronx, New York, for Identity Theft in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, both Class D Felonies.

An investigation revealed that Schaffrodt had cashed multiple forged checks at bank branches in the Towns of Wappinger and East Fishkill.

Schaffrodt was arraigned at the Town of LaGrange Court, and she was released on her own recognizance. Her next appearance was scheduled for April 26, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., at the Town of Wappinger Court.
