Wappinger woman charged with Robbery

On January 15, 2017, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Sonia O. Santiago, age 56, of Wappingers Falls, New York, for Robbery in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.On January 15, 2017, at about 1:07 PM, Troopers responded for a disturbance in the parking lot of the Fishkill Plaza on Route 9. An investigation revealed that Sonia Santiago attacked a woman and stole the victim’s purse. This incident occurred in the presence of a child.
Santiago was arraigned at the Village of Fishkill Court. Judge Michael Martin released Santiago on her own recognizance. Her next appearance was scheduled for January 30, 2017, at 9:30 AM.
