Dover Female Arrested for Stealing From Family

NEW YORK STATE POLICE
Major Robert M. Nuzzo
Troop K Commander
PRESS RELEASE

Ann M. Harris, 31

On 1/16/2017, State Police BCI at Dover Plains arrested Ann Harris, 31 of Dover, NY for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Identity Theft in the 1st Degree, Forgery in the 2ndDegree, and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information in the 3rd Degree.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a report of  larceny and identity theft with the State Police in December 2016 by Harris’ family. In December it was reported that Harris’ mother’s bank account had been depleted of thousands of dollars in charges and cash withdrawals.

An investigation into the matter determined that Harris had taken advantage of her mother’s illness and incapacitation to seriously deplete most of the finances through the fraudulent charges and cash withdrawals. Harris was arraigned before Town of Dover Judge Fusco and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail and $40,000 bond.
