Middletown woman charged with entering Downstate Correctional Facility with drugs

PRESS RELEASE

Fishkill, New York – On January 14, 2017, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Julie L. DeWitt, age 33, of Middletown, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Julie DeWitt entered the Downstate Correctional Facility to visit an inmate and she was found to possess a small amount of marihuana.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision K9 Unit.

DeWitt was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Fishkill Court on January 24, 2017, at 9:00 AM.
