PRESS RELEASE

On Friday December 23, 2016 the New York State Police and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Town of Kingston to investigate a 911 report of shots being fired in a residence. The 911 caller stated being in the driveway of the residence when he heard 5-6 gun shots inside the residence and seeing the glass of a second floor window breaking.

New York State Troopers and Ulster County Sheriff’s Deputies determined that the shots had been fired from an apartment in the fourth apartment building on Hill Road in the Town of Kingston. The apartment where the shots were fired from was determined to be that of CHRISTOPHER D. FOWLER, age 36. After multiple attempts, communication with FOWLER was made and he surrendered himself to police without further incident.
No one was injured as a result of the shots being fired by FOWLER.

FOWLER was arrested for one count of Reckless Endangerment First Degree and arraigned in the Town of Kingston Court before Town Judge ALBERSTADT and remanded to the Ulster County Jail for lack of bail.
