Carmel Woman Faces Drug Charges

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel woman on narcotics possession charges.

On December 14, 2016 at approximately 4:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on Fowler Avenue in the Hamlet of Carmel. Upon arrival at the location, responding deputies determined that the female occupant had fled the area on foot. Deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit (NEU) had been monitoring the dispatch and recognized the name and description of the subject as a person they had made several recent prescription medication purchases from.

Members of the NEU responded to the area and located the subject a short distance from the home. Upon taking the subject into custody, deputies determined that the woman was in unlawful possession of prescription medication and a small quantity of marijuana.

Lisa M. Bianco, 38, of Fowler Avenue was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a felony; and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. She was arraigned before Town of Kent Justice Kevin Douchkoff and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
