State Police in Somers investigate Swastikas painted on school playground

Lewisboro, New York – On December 27, 2016, New York State Police from the Somers barracks responded to the Lewisboro Elementary School, located at 79 Bouton Road, for a criminal mischief complaint.
An investigation indicated that a Lewisboro resident contacted the school district after he observed swastikas painted on the school’s playground. The elementary school, which has been closed for several years has a playground which is regularly used by neighborhood children.
Police conducted numerous interviews regarding the incident and the case remains under investigation.
Anyone who has information regarding the vandalism, which is believed to have occurred between December 23, 2016 and December 24, 2016, is asked to contact the State Police by calling (914) 769-2600.
