Cornwall man charged with Grand Larceny 4th and Falsifying Business Records 1st.

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police announce the arrest of Anthony J Prestigiacomo of Cornwall, NY. Mr. Prestigiacomo was charged with Grand Larceny in the 4thDegree, a class E Felony, Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, a class E Felony, False Statement, a class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a class A Misdemeanor.

Mr. Prestigiacomo reported that, after losing his wallet which contained his Walden Savings Bank Debit Card and pin number information, an unknown subject deposited a fraudulent check and subsequently withdrew $1,931.81 over several transactions. Mr. Prestigiacomo completed Walden Savings Bank ATM/DEBIT Card Unauthorized/Dispute Transactions forms and was subsequently reimbursed by the bank. Investigation revealed that Mr. Prestigiacomo conspired to allow the transactions to take place, was to receive a large sum of cash, and then complete fraud documents to be fully reimbursed for his account’s loss.

Mr. Prestigiacomo was arraigned in the Town of Cornwall Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $1000 cash bail.
