Pleasant Valley man apprehended during commercial burglary

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Kenneth M. Hotaling, age 29 of Pleasant Valley, in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred in the Town of Pleasant Valley during the early morning hours of 11/8/16.
Just after midnight on 11/8/16 Sheriff’s Office Detectives were conducting an investigation in the area of State Routes 82 and 44 in Pleasant Valley, at which time they observed a subject allegedly breaking into Brennan’s Grocery Store. The Detectives then apprehended the subject inside the store and identified him as Mr. Hotaling.

At this time Mr. Hotaling has been charged with Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony), and after being processed he was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.

As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Hotaling is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
