Clinton Corners – Susan D. Evers, age 70, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Susan was born November 7, 1945. She is the daughter of the late Cecil and the late Madeline Kennard. She married Harry J. Evers III on January 6, 1979 in Millbrook, New York.
She retired from Arlington Central School District as the Asst. Director Of Transportation.
Susan was a NYS Education Department School Bus Driver Instructor, An Article 19-A Certified Examiner and the Owner of SDE Safety Plus that provided Safety Training for numerous School Districts . She volunteered at the American Red Cross and for Cystic Fibrosis. Susan also previously worked for Ryder Student Transportation as the Operations Manager , Village Transportation, Laidlaw, School Transit and Duke Transportation.
Susan loved the Jets and enjoyed going to the Casinos.
She is survived by her husband: Harry J. Evers III, her sister Beverly Riley; cousin, Peter Huer and cousin, Family members Karen Evers, Joe Cipriani, Lisa Lamy, nephew Tucker Lamy and nieces Taylor Evers and Kelsey Evers.
Susan was predeceased by her son, Albert E. Bender Jr, and daughter, Alechia A. Bender .
Calling hours will be Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
Family and friends will be gathering on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Funeral Home at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
