Oneida County Man killed in Farm Tractor Accident

On June 21,2016, State Police in Lee were dispatched to 4766 Struen Road in the Town of Lee for a farming accident.

Investigation revealed that 80 year-old, Thomas W. Palmer was splitting wood with a log splitter attached to a Deutz tractor. At some point he started the tractor from the ground not realizing the tractor was in a forward gear. The tractor knocked him to the ground and continued over top of him with a rear tire and the log splitter. He was discovered this evening at approx. 6:00 PM by a family member.The investigation is continuing.
