Motorcyclist Arrested After Fleeing Police

On June 16, 2016, Kinderhook Troopers arrested Matthew R. Johnson,31 years old of Claverack, NY, for Unlawful Fleeing of Police Officer 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, after leading officers on a pursuit on Route 9H in the Town of Kinderhook. Mr. Johnson was observed speeding and lead officers on a short pursuit before surrendering to authorities. He was also issued a number of Vehicle and Traffic law tickets and arraigned in the Town of Stuyvesant Court by the Honorable Dr. O’Hare and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000.00 bond. Mr. Johnson is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Kinderhook Court at a later date.
