Motorists Face Driving While Intoxicated Charges

Sheriff Donald B. Smith announces the recent arrests of motorists on Driving While Intoxicated charges.

On June 11, 2016 at 2:34 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 6 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Gregory A. Tricario, 28, of 58 Jeanette Street, Danbury, Connecticut was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Tricario and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. During the arrest process, the deputy determined that Mr. Tricario was in possession of a quantity of cocaine, and additionally charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

On June 12, 2016 at 9:55 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Robert Hudson responded to a 911 report of an erratic driver on Route 311 in the Town of Patterson. The deputy responded to the area and observed the driver of suspect vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver, identified as Ivan O. Chamale-Muralles, 38, of 101 Housatonic Avenue, New Milford, Connecticut was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Chamale-Muralles and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
