State Police from Stormville arrest Poughkeepsie man
for felony drug possession

Kent, New York – On June 6, 2016, New York State Police from Stormville arrested Russell P. Sage, age 26, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7thDegree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.
A State Police investigator traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway observed a vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway and stopped to check the welfare of the vehicle’s occupants. He requested a marked patrol vehicle to respond to the scene after he observed a strong odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle.
A subsequent investigation revealed that one of the occupants in the vehicle, Sage, possessed a small quantity of heroin, an estimated 47 grams of Oxycodone, and approximately 1 gram of marihuana.
Sage was arraigned in the Town of Kent Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail by T/Justice Collins in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. The defendant is due to reappear in the Town of Kent Court at a later date and time.
