Catskill man arrested for Criminal Sex Act on a minor

PRESS RELEASE

On May 17, 2016, the Orange County Child Abuse Unit, which is comprised of members from the New York State Police, Village of Goshen Police, City of Port Jervis Police and Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 34 year old man for Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (B Felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor) and Violation of Probation.

State Police arrested and charged Alquran Feldman of Catskill, N.Y. (recently from Newburgh, N.Y.) following a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline.  The investigation commenced in March, 2016 in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services. The investigation revealed that Mr. Feldman, 10 years ago, had committed the offense constituting the crime of Criminal Sexual Act on a female under eleven years old while in the City of Newburgh. FELDMAN was located by the State Police Middletown Barracks and arraigned before the Honorable Patrick Owen in the Town of Wallkill Court on the charges of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Feldman was issued an Order of Protection and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 cash bail / $ 150,000.00 secured bond. Feldman is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Wallkill Court on May 23, 2016 @ 1:00PM.
