On May 17, 2016, the Orange County Child Abuse Unit. which is comprised of members from the New York State Police, Village of Goshen Police, City of Port Jervis Police and Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25 year old man for the class D Felony of Assault in the Second Degree and class A Misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

 

State Police arrested and charged Alban Rowe of Walden, N.Y. following a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline.  The Orange County Child Abuse Unit conducted this investigation in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services. The investigation revealed that Mr. Rowe, who was caring for his 8 month old son on Sunday, May 15th, had caused physical injuries to several areas on his son’s body. Upon noticiing the injuries, the child’s mother brought her son to the hospital and the hospital staff contacted the Child Abuse Hotline which commenced the investigation. Mr. Rowe was arrested at the State Police Montgomery Barracks and arraigned before the Honorable Raynard Osman in the Village of Walden Court.  Judge Osman issued an order of protection and remanded Rowe to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1000.00 Cash/ $2500.00 secured bond.
