Drunk Driver Arrested After Striking Troop Car

Cornwall, NY – On May 15, 2016, at approximately 2:27 a.m., State Police were issuing a speeding citation to a Honda Odyssey on the right shoulder, when the driver of a 2004 Acura side swiped the Troop car and then struck the Honda.

The driver of the Acura, later identified as, Jesse B. Frehling, 24, of Beacon, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  He was transported and processed at SP Montgomery where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.15%.  He was subsequently charged with:

  • Driving While Intoxicated; a Misdemeanor
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations

Frehling was arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear on May 19, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

Cornwall EMS responded and tended to the driver of the Honda and his 5 passengers. They were all transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries.  The Troopers and Frehling were uninjured.
