State Police in Wappinger investigate one-car crash on State Route 9D

Fishkill, New York – On May 15, 2016 at approximately 11:48 p.m., New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks responded to State Route 9D in the area of Magnolia Drive for a reported one-car collision.

An investigation revealed that 33-year-old Louis C. Barbieri of Wappingers Falls was traveling southbound on State Route 9D when for an unknown reason his vehicle exited the roadway and stuck a utility pole.

Barbieri was extricated from his vehicle by responding fire personnel and air-lifted to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.  Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the State Police by calling (845) 677-7300.

The State Police were assisted by the City of Beacon Fire Department and Chelsea Fire Department.
