Napanoch woman arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a child

PRESS RELEASE

State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Crystal VanWanger, age 30, of Napanoch NY for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor.
On May 14, 2016 State Police at Ellenville received a report of a highly intoxicated woman with a one year old child in her care.  Upon further investigation by State Police, Crystal VanWanger was found in her residence highly intoxicated and passed out on the living room floor.  Her one year old daughter was located in a crib in another room sleeping.  Knowing the risk of consuming enough alcohol to render herself unconscious, Crystal VanWanger placed her daughter’s physical wel6 lbeing at risk. Crystal VanWanger was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and her daughter was turned over to family members.
Crystal VanWanger was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court before Town Justice Charles Dechon who remanded her to the Ulster County Jail on $500.00 cash bail or $1000.00 secured bond. VanWanger was ordered to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court on May 20, 2016 at 8:30am.
