Obituary, Nancy Elizabeth Tsoubris

Pleasant Valley – Nancy Elizabeth Tsoubris of Pleasant Valley, NY, was called to the arms of our Lord on April 17, 2016. Her faith and her love for family and friends made her an inspiration to all who were honored to know her. She was 45 years old.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 18 years, Konstantinos (Gus) Tsoubris, her 3 beautiful children: Theodore, Elizabeth and Kathleen and her parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Colkin of Millbrook, NY. She was a wonderful sister to Eileen Cuneo of Patterson, NY (Colin Cuneo), Gerald Colkin of Pelham NY (Rose-Ann DiUbaldo Colkin) and Elizabeth Clarke of the Bronx (Edward Clarke). She was an adoring aunt to Liam, Ciara and Patrick Cuneo, Emma, Grace and Nora Colkin and Ryan Clarke. She was loved by her mother-in-law Katerina Tsoubris and the late Theodoros Tsoubris and sister-in-law Evangelina Aprilakis and her children Konstantinos and Barbara Aprilakis. She was blessed to be loved by more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends than can be counted.

Nancy was born on December 22, 1970 at Mt. Kisco Hospital. She was raised in Millerton, NY and graduated from Webutuck High School in 1989. She graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Art History in 1989. Nancy received her Masters in Social Work in 1995 from Fordham University and had a license in clinical social work and was a certified nutrition counselor. Always dedicated to the lives of children and families, Nancy worked at Astor Services for Children and Families in Poughkeepsie, NY. She later opened a private counseling practice in Rhinebeck N.Y.

The last years of her life were dedicated to her health and being present for her children and husband. Even in illness she was a dedicated friend and always looked to give to others. A crowning achievement was her running a half marathon with her husband to raise money for Sparrow’s Nest of the Hudson Valley, which provides meals to local families dealing with cancer treatments.
