Obituary, Stefanie Gay Gerard Calamari

 

Fishkill – Stefanie Gay Gerard Calamari, age 71 of Fishkill, NY, died on April 15, 2016 surrounded by her children, family, and close friends at her daughter’s home in Dover Plains NY.

Stefanie was a school bus driver, custodian, and CSEA member through Arlington Schools for 26 years, earning many awards and commendations for service over the years. Stefanie loved the outdoors including hiking, skiing, kayaking and gardening. She loved her church and Catholic faith, giving to many charities including The Christian Foundation for Children through which she sponsored a girl from Uganda for almost two decades. She was a talented singer, belonging to several choirs over the years. Stefanie had a wicked sense of humor, infectious laugh, and a brightness about her that touched everyone she met. She embodied a kindness, caring, generous spirit that will live on in the memories of those fortunate to have known her.

Stefanie, “Stef”, is survived by her daughters Gina Calamari, and Christine Spinner, and her son Frank Calamari; her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; her closest and dearest friend Pat Martens, many sisters and brothers-in-law, and other extended family and friends.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am on Friday, April 22nd at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., Fishkill, NY. Internment will follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.

In lieu of flowers, Stefanie wanted any memorial donations to go to The Dutchess County SPCA at www.dcspca.org or www.parkinsonsunitywalk.org, using the team name “Denise’s Dynamic Walkers in memory of Stefanie Calamari.
