Art Exhibit: Discarded Now Adored

Art Exhibit: Discarded Now Adored

As the old words of wisdom tell us “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” as well as “Beauty is in the Eye of the beholder” Marlena Filannino also believes it only takes one moment of divine inspiration to FIND something that’s been discarded, thrown out for trash, or even forgotten to see its layers of memories and create a way to bring it back to life. Marlana continuously brings to life her many creations, and continues to share them with the world. You can find her eccentric and beautiful creations at places like art openings, galleries, storefronts, cafe’s and local flea markets. She hopes to inspire more individuals to use their imagination in capturing the beauty that is all around them, at their disposal, in the here and now. Each one of us has the ability to breathe life into something special using imagination and a touch of love.

Please join us at the Studio Around The Corner for the opening of this fantastic and unusual showing on Friday, May 6th 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Meet the artist, Marlena Filannino, while enjoying complementary refreshments.

About The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition

The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining cultural arts within the Town of Southeast and its surrounding region. TOSCAC was established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in August 2010 with the purpose, as detailed in the incorporation papers, “… to promote and raise funds for the development and effective management of affordable, accessible performance space that will provide citizens of the Town of Southeast opportunities to participate in and appreciate cultural arts, including lectures, theater, dance, film, music, visual arts, and inclusive community events.”

Our current focus is the renovation of the Southeast Old Town Hall, a historic landmark within the Village of Brewster and a perfect venue to serve as a cultural hub. The Old Town Hall has been described as a “Jewel in the Center of Brewster” and its renovation will help foster the revitalization of downtown Brewster.
