State Police arrest Massachusetts man for making false bomb threat

PRESS RELEASE

On 04/05/16 the State Police in Catskill arrested WAYNE A. AUGUSTO, age 47, of Worcester, MA for the charges of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree and False Reporting an Incident in the 2nd degree, both class E Felonies.

AUGUSTO was arrested after he allegedly called and reported a bomb in a residence in the Town of Cairo.  An investigation revealed the threat was false.  Further investigation revealed that AUGUSTO was also in violation of a duly served order of protection out of the Town of Cairo.

AUGUSTO was arraigned before the Town of Cairo Court Judge Miller and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.

The State Police was assisited by the Cairo Police Department, The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State ENCON.
