Traffic stop leads to felony drug charges for a Town of Crawford man.

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police – Highland BCI announce the arrest of 18 year old, William Allen, of Crawford, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth (a class C felony), four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance Fifth Degree (a class D felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (a class A misdemeanor) and Driving While Impaired by Drugs (an unclassified Vehicle and Traffic Law misdemeanor).

On 03/30/16, subsequent to vehicle and traffic stop conducted by SP Highland patrols in the Town of Lloyd,  Willam Allen was in possession of a quantity of Ketamine and concentrated cannabis.  The investigation then led members of the New York State Police to Allen’s residence in the Town of Crawford where additional controlled substances including Ketamine, concentrated cannabis, LSD, and marijuana were seized.

Allen was arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash bail for the charges related to the traffic stop. Allen was also charged in the Town of Crawford Court regarding the drugs found in his home and released on his own recognizance in lieu of his remand to the Ulster County Jail.
