New Paltz Man Arrested for Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police at Highland announce the arrest of Liam B. Farrell, age 26, of New Paltz, NY for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (D Felony) and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree (E Felony).

On March 2, 2016 the New York State Police was contacted by an employee at the Mohonk Mountain House located in the Town of New Paltz regarding a former employee who had stolen over $4,000 in cash from a safe at the establishment.  The investigation revealed that over a one week period Farrell, who was employed as the general cashier at the time, altered the financial records of the business in an attempt to hide the larcenies he was committing.

On March 24, 2016, Farrell was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree.  He was arraigned at the Town of New Paltz Court before Town Justice Katz where he was released on his own recognizance with a return date of April 26, 2016 at 6:00pm .
