Two Yorktown Heights residents arrested following traffic stop

Yorktown, New York – On March 7, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 21-year-old Vincent A. Poggioreale of Yorktown Heights, New York, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.
Troopers stopped a vehicle traveling on State Route 6 with a loud exhaust.  The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Yorktown man, was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.  The driver was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, when he was found to possess Alprazolam.  The teen is due to appear in the Town of Yorktown Court at a later date and time.

Poggioreale, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with possessing approximately 229 grams of marihuana, approximately 60 Alprazolam pills, and marihuana.  The defendant was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Yorktown Court on March 17, 2016 after he posted $250 station bail.
