Brooklyn Woman Faces Felony Assault Charge in Patterson

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Brooklyn woman on a felony charge of assault.

On March 6, 2016 at 11:17 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 report of a dispute in progress at 374 Bullet Hole Road in the Town of Patterson. Upon arrival, the deputies encountered a man who had been bleeding profusely. An investigation revealed that Erin J. Spillane, 36, of 593 Central Avenue, Brooklyn, New York had thrown a coffee cup at the man which struck him in the forehead and injured him. Ms. Spillane is also alleged to have punched the man and used a flashlight to strike him. Deputies arrested Ms. Spillane and charged her with Assault in the Second Degree, a felony. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment. The male subject was transported via Patterson Fire Department Ambulance to Putnam Hospital Center for emergency medical treatment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to 7 years in a New York State Correctional facility and a fine up to $5,000.00.
