Middletown troopers respond to an explosion.

PRESS RELEASE

On February 12, 2016, State Police Middletown Troopers and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) responded to Oprandy’s Fire Equipment in the Town of Wallkill for a report of an explosion. The responding Troopers located two workers, Frank J. Buono, 23 of Goshen and Christopher Foust, 35 of Warwick, in the rear room of the building with severe leg injuries. Troopers, along with the assistance of Town of Wallkill officers utilized tourniquets on both victims while waiting for EMS personnel. Mr. Buono and Mr. Foust were transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center and are currently listed in serious condition. Mr Buono suffered a severe injury to his right leg and Mr Foust suffered severe injuries to both of his legs. Investigation revealed that Mr. Foust was filling a fire extinguisher with air when the tank ruptured causing injuries to himself and Mr. Buono.
