State Police at Liberty Make Arrests in Livingston Manor Burglaries

On Wednesday February 10, 2015 State Police at Liberty arrested Nicholas Daly, age 32 of Liberty in connection with burglaries reported at a residence in the Town of Liberty and a car wash/laundrymat in Livingston Manor.  On January 28, 2016 the operator of the Livingston Manor Car Wash/Laundrymat reported a break-in during which cash and change were stolen.  A homeowner on Loomis Rd reported to State Police on February 1, 2016 that their home had been broken into.  They reported a flat screen television, a game console and video games missing.  The investigation also determined that Daly was responsible for the theft of two nail guns from a construction site in Livingston Manor and the theft and cashing of checks from an acquaintance.  A portion of the proceeds has been recovered.  State Police additionally arrested Daly’s girlfriend Marie Sackett, age 22, also of Liberty for possessing some of the proceeds from his crimes.

Daly was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, felonies, and Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.  He was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.  Sackett was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree.  She was released on an appearance ticket ordering her to appear at a later date in the Town of Liberty Court.
