Somers, New York – New York State Police from the Somers barracks are investigating an alleged threat made at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School.
State Police initiated the investigation when they received a tip reporting a threat made on a social media platform. The tip alleged that a 15-year-old juvenile had made statements on social media to harm others at the school, where he is a student.
Further investigation revealed that the threat, which was made several months ago, does not appear to be credible at this time. The case remains under investigation.
A State Police officer and Canine will be on school grounds today to ensure the safety of the children. Additionally, Somers Police Department will also have a School Resource Officer at the school.
