Poughkeepsie man charged with burglarizing Wappinger home on two separate dates

Wappinger, New York – On January 7, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 34-year-old Steven J. Finney, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate a burglary at a Town of Wappinger home.   The victim reported that her vacant home was burglarized in late August and again in early September of 2015. Following an investigation, it was discovered that Finney had stolen two mopeds, tools, copper piping and a television from the house during the two burglaries.
A warrant was issued ordering Finney’s arrest in December of 2015.

Finney was transported from Downstate Correctional Facility was he was currently serving time on an unrelated matter to the Town of Wappinger Court for arraignment.  Finney was returned to Downstate Correctional Facility by DOCCS Staff.
