The New York State Police at Dover Plains are requesting assistance from the public in the identification of skeletal remains.

On May 19, 2002, the State Police commenced an investigation into the discovery of human remains located in a wooded area south of Silo Ridge Golf Course, off of State Route 22, in the Town of Amenia.

An investigation determined that the remains are that of an adult white male, 5’1/2” tall, with possibly dark or graying hair, 40” to 42” waist and possibly of South American descent. Articles of clothing found at the scene consist of a plaid extra-large long sleeve Arrow big oxford shirt, tan Perry Ellis Portfolio pants, black leather belt, and brown Giorgio Brutini leather shoes.
It was determined that the adult male was in the woods for a period of at least 9 months prior to being found. The male was also found to have gold-shell bridge dental work.

Facial reconstruction was completed and the images of a possible appearance are attached.

Anyone with information that could be helpful in identifying the subject is asked to call the State Police Dover Plains barracks at (845) 877-3660 or (845) 677-7300.
